Thaddeus E. (Ted) Karasinski, Sr.

October 14, 1916 — May 17, 2003

Thaddeus (Ted) E. Karasinski, 86, of Conneaut Lake, PA died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Rolling Fields Nursing Home.

He was born October 14, 1916, in Pittsburgh, PA the son of John and Anthonia Stundnicki Karasinski.

He retired from Colonial-Penn-Franklin Insurance Co. in 1977 after 10 years of service.  He had also worked for Westinghouse, Pittsburgh Mercantile Co. and was in furniture sales.

He was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, Conneaut Lake and the Knights of Columbus.  He was a life member of Crawford County Crime Stoppers, Conneaut Lake Kiwanis Club, Meadville BOP Elks Lodge #219 and Meadville Eagles Aeries #429.  He was former and founding member of Midway Civic Club, Conneaut Lake.  He was a former volunteer with bingo at St. Philip Church, Linesville.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, square dancing and baseball.

He is survived by a daughter, Lois Olcsan (Louis) of Pittsburgh; three stepsons, Rick Porfilio (Yvonne) of Harmonsburg, David Porfilio (Gail) of Charlotte, NC and Tony Porfilio (Cheryl) of Charlotte; a brother, August Karasinski of Mt. Lebanon, PA; three grandchildren, Chuck Karasinski (Kim), Therese Olcsan and Marlo Olcsan and three step-grandchildren, Amanda Porfilio, Michael Profilio and Shayna Profilio.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Marie Helton Karasinski, second wife, Joyce Porfilio Karasinski; a son, Thaddeus E. Karasinski, Jr.; a grandson, John Olcsan; a sister, Helen Olszewski and two brothers, Frank and Jo Karasinski.

Services were held at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.

Interment was in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
