The Rev. Daniel Gordon Henry

The Rev. Daniel Gordon Henry, 94, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, passed away there and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

He was born May 18, 1922 in Westford, PA, a son of Don and Maggie Alene McClurg Henry.  He married Eloise Augusta Campbell April 6, 1946 and she survives.

Gordon attended Erie Business School and was a graduate of Bob Jones University.  He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1946 in the Pacific Theater of Operations and was honorably discharged with the rank of Yeoman First Class.

Gordon was first ordained in the Southern Methodist Church in South Carolina and was currently listed in the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.  He Pastored in churches in South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and California, including approximately seven years at The United Church of Springboro, PA.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Eloise of 70 years, include a daughter, The Rev. Rebecca Lash and her husband David of Conneaut Lake; a son, The Rev. Jonathan Henry and his wife Linda of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Gordon Henry and a brother, Cyril Eugene Henry.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the Barco Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Ave., Meadville.
