Thelma A. Thurston, 92, of Meadville, a retired school teacher, died Friday, March 20, 1992, at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.
She was born in Franklin, February 15, 1900, a daughter of George and Florence Bickerstaff Bigler. She married Samuel S. Thurston, November 23, 1939. He preceded her in death April 24, 1975.
She had taught school in Meadville for several years. She attended Allegheny College, was a member of Charles Stafford American Legion Post 111 Aux., an associate member of Meadville Country Club and the Iroquois Club and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Betty) Johnson of Virginia Beach, VA and a nephew, Jack Bigler of Meadville.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Bigler and three brothers, John, George and Eugene Bigler.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
