Thelma L. Addleman

Thelma L. Addleman, 87, of 739 Seminole Road, Meadville, died at home Monday, February 19, 2001 following an illness of three months.

She was born in McKeesport, PA February 26, 1913, a daughter of William and Carrie Ferguson.  She married Charles A. Addleman June 10, 1939 and he survives.

She was a 1931 graduate of McKeesport High School and a 1933 graduate of Slippery Rock State Teachers College.  She was a member of Stone Methodist Church and Kon-Yacht Kickers.  She was an avid bridge player and an active participant at the Crawford County Senior Center.  She is a former director of the YWCA.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Nancy Baker and her husband Jim of Saegertown; a son, Charles A. Addleman, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Pittsburgh; a sister, Dorothy Warner of Green Valley, CA; five grandchildren, Jennifer Addleman, Jill Addleman, Brian Addleman, Trisha Baker and Doug Baker; a great-grandson and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul R. Borneman, Jr., pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Crawford County Senior Center, 1034 Park Ave., Meadville or Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main St., Meadville.
