Thelma Lou Engels, 83, a resident of Rolling Fields Nursing Home since 1995, died there, Sunday, February 21, 1999 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Red Stone, PA, September 14, 1915, a daughter of Walter J. and Hannah (Schimansky) Crabel. Her mother later married James R. Charles. She married Robert L. Engels, Sr., June 22, 1940 and he preceded her in death June 10, 1987.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church where she was very active. She was an avid homemaker and her greatest joys were her two grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Robert L. Engels, Jr. (Candance) of Allison Park; two grandchildren, Rob L. Engels of Allison Park and Eric J Engels of Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Ondrako and two brothers, Walter J. Crabel and James Christie.
Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
