Thelma Miller

July 16, 1919 — August 13, 2002

Thelma Miller, 83, of 746 Ravine St., Meadville, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002 at Beverly Healthcare Meadville from complications do to cancer.

She was born July 16, 1919 in Cambridge Springs, a daughter of the late Elmer and Maude Meeks Shearer.  She married Elmer L. Miller September 20, 1938 and he preceded her in death February 26, 1991.

She was a graduate of Cambridge Springs High School and attended Edinboro University where she studied art.  She worked as a broker secretary at Parker/Hunter, Inc., Meadville for 15 years.  She was a board member on the Crawford County Humane Society and volunteer with the American Red Cross.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, white water rafting, and hot air ballooning.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ where she served on various committees, ushered and helped with funeral dinners.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Goodwill and her husband Duane of Sharon; 2 sons, Paul G. Miller of Hermitage and Charles E. Miller of Saegertown; 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Grimm and Darlene, David, and Mark Miller; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vivian Shambaugh of Sun City, AZ.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

A funeral and committal service will be Friday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Steve Aschmann, Pastor of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ officiating.

Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
