Theodore B. Walp, 81, one of the last of the older tailors of the Meadville area, died at Smith Institute, Saegertown, Thursday evening, December 31, 1964, after a long illness.
Mr. Walp first was employed as a tailor by Harry Harr of Meadville. He then worked as a tailor at the Charles Mendal's store on Water Street. Mr. Walp was a tailor for F. G. Prenatt and Tom K. Williams. He retired from the tailor profession in 1956 when he was employed by the Printz Co. of Meadville.
A son of Charles H. and Charlotte Betts Walp, he was born at Meadville August 1883, and married the former Laura A. Miller May 9, 1905.
Mr. Walp was a member of First Presbyterian Church, a life member of Masonic Lodge 408 and a life member of Meadville Elks Lodge.
His wife died August 10, 1963. He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Surviving are one brother, Karl B. Walp of Meadville and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
