Theodore R. Burton

Theodore R. Burton, 92, of Guys Mills, died Tuesday, February 4, 1997, at home following at two month illness.

He was born in Rome Township, November 20, 1904, a son of the late Herbert and Mary (Brooks) Burton.  He married Marian V. Walton, October 22, 1927.  She preceded him in death October 21, 1991.

He retired in 1969 as a car man for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad after 46 years of service.  He was a member of Wayland Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a Deacon for many years.  He also played semi-pro baseball for a number of years.

Survivors, include, a son, Robert C. Burton of Guys Mills; a sister, Mrs. Ernie (Thelma) Bartlow of Winter Garden, FL; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Murray; two sisters, Vee Raymond and Lela Eastman; and three brothers, Glenn, George and Phillip Burton.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Wayland Cemetery.
