Theresa A. (Piccoli) Hogue

May 22, 1925 — February 12, 2012

Theresa A. Piccoli Hogue, 86, of Hagerstown, MD and formerly of Meadville, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD.

She was born in Meadville May 22, 1925, a daughter of Theodore and Anna Rossi Piccoli.  She married Donald W. Hogue October 4, 1945 and he preceded her in death March 14, 1998.

Theresa was a 1943 graduate of Meadville High School.  She was a production worker at Talon for 30 years, retiring in 1987.  She was formerly a member of the Allegheny College Community Choir.  She dearly loved her family, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her many wonderful and caring friends.

Theresa was an active member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society.  She was a Eucharistic Minister, also helped in other church ministries, and sang in the adult and funeral choirs.  She had a deep and abiding love for the Blessed Mother and the power of the rosary.  She enjoyed walking, saying her daily rosaries, and the love, prayers, and peace she shared with her church family.  She also enjoyed the warm friendships she shared with her neighbors when she lived on Arch and North Streets in Meadville.

Survivors include a son, James Hogue and his wife Stephanie of Hagerstown, MD; a son-in-law, Daniel McBride and his wife Bunny of Erie; a sister, Sylvia Garner of Meadville; five grandchildren, Nicole Hogue of Catonsville, MD, Jamie Hogue of Tucson, AZ, Jessica Visco and her husband Peter of Ellicott City, MD, Dr. Shannon McBride of Atlanta, GA, and David McBride of Rochester, NY; three great-granddaughters, Claire Elise Jobson, Elena Teresa Nickles and Marisa Joy Jobson; two great-grandsons, Tobin Isaiah Nickles and Jackson Anthony Visco; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Hogue McBride; a brother, Dr. John D. Piccoli; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Hogue.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 7:45 p.m. led by Deacon Harvey McQueen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Fr. Marc Soloman as Celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville, PA 16335.
