Thomas A. Huson

Thomas A. Huson, 77, of Meadville and formerly of Saegertown passed away Thursday, July 6, 2017 at UPMC Hamot, Erie.

He was born April 23, 1940 in Meadville, a son of the late Howard W. and Phoebe M. Castile Huson.  He married M. Jean Barnes June 25, 1960 and she survives.

Tom was a 1959 graduate of Saegertown High School.  He was employed at Greenleaf Corporation as a machinist for over 30 years, retiring in 2002.

Tom was of the United Methodist faith.  He was a member of Crawford Masonic Lodge 234, member and twice past monarch of the Kismet Grotto, member and past president of the PA Grotto Assoc., member of the Zem Zem Shrine Temple, Erie, the Crawford County Motor Patrol, and Saegertown American Legion Post 205.  Tom was a former coach of the Venango Senior League baseball team.  He enjoyed golfing and hunting and especially loved time spent at home and with his loving family.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Jean of 57 years, include two sons, Thomas A. Huson, II and his wife Sue of Nevins, NC and Donald L. Huson and his wife Christine of Roanoke, VA; a daughter, Christina Kaspick and her husband John of Cambridge Springs; nine grandchildren, Chrystal, Joshua, Joscelyn, Donald (Joe), Haley, Michael, Paul, Mark, and Timothy; three great-grandchildren, Madyson, Hailey, and Oliver; three brothers, Ernest Huson and his wife Dixie of Andover, OH, C. Richard (Dick) Huson and his wife Pat of Saegertown, and Robert (Bob) Huson and his wife Nancy of Meadville; a sister, Janette Miller of Blooming Valley; and several nieces and nephews including Arnell Huson and his wife Paula whom Tom thought of like another son.

Calling hours will be Saturday, July 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m.  The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Temple Jarrell, Pastor of New Beginnings Church of God, officiating.
