Thomas E. Anderton

Thomas E. Anderton, Sr., 67, of Mullen Road, Meadville, died Wednesday, August 29, 1979, at City Hospital after and extended illness.

He was born in Oil City July 21, 1912, son of Thomas A. and Elizabeth J. McClune Anderton.

He married Helen J. King July 14, 1933.  He had retired after 20 years of service with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.  He was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Blaine (Elaine) Thomas of Chardon, OH; two sons, Thomas E. Anderton, Jr. of Linesville and George J. Anderton of Conneaut Lake; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Henry of Glendale, CA, Mrs. Foster (Helen) Crosby of Walnut Creek, CA, Mrs. Robert (Jean Rita) Bridge of Las Costa, CA and Mrs. Jay (Ruth) Miller of Franklin; three brothers, Kenneth of Riverside, CA, Richard of Titusville and James of Media; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services were held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home with Rev. Fr. Henry Schauerman of St. Agatha's Church.

Entombment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Meadville.
