Thomas Edward Leberman, 80, of Meadville, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
He was born December 25, 1932 in Meadville a son of Gordon and Effie Williams Leberman. He married Emma Jane Davis Busch October 4, 1984 and she preceded him in death April 15, 2003.
He worked as a conductor working for Conrail and its predecessors, Erie Lackawanna and Bessemer Railroads from 1952-1993 retiring after 41 years of service. He was a graduate of Meadville High School. He was 32º Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge #408, Coudersport Consistory, Kismet Grotto, Crawford County Shrine Club, Zem Zem Shrine Temple Erie and the Zem Zem Motor Patrol. He also was a member of Elks Lodge #219, The Meadville Club, VFW Post #2006 and West Mead #2 Vol. Fire Dept.
He loved golfing, playing euchre, his morning coffee groups and just hanging out with the guys. He was also a volunteer driver for Shriners Hospitals.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah A. Saeger of Daytona Beach, FL and Linda L. Laughner and her husband Robert of Pittsburgh; a son, Michael T. Leberman of Conneaut Lake; a step-daughter, Marsha Manning and her husband Charles of Meadville; a step-son, Daniel Busch of Meadville; five grandchildren, Shawn Saeger, Kevin Saeger, Bryan Saeger, Amanda Leberman and Lindsey Sexton; a step-granddaughter, Marlie Manning; four great grandchildren, Savannah, Noelle, Gavin and Quentin; two sisters, Jean Milway and her husband Dean of Rockford, IL and Virginia Peglow and her husband Paul of Etlan, VA, several nieces nephews and special friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jane, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Minore.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 1-3 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with an Elks Service and Masonic Service following each other at 8:45 p.m.
The funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Sarah Roncolato, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
