Thomas E. Morgan

Thomas E. Morgan, 79, of Cambridge Springs died at home Wednesday, August 18, 2021.  He was born September 24, 1941 in Wilkes-Barre, PA a son of Thomas T. and Elizabeth Dare Morgan.  He married Lynda Van Trease September 15, 1962 and she survives.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Air Force from 1961-1965.  He moved to the area when he began working for Johnson Controls in Erie but owned and operated Morgan’s Maintenance Service for over 20 years providing general electrical, plumbing and carpentry services.  He enjoyed hunting, especially archery, woodworking, riding his motorcycle and bird watching.  He would feed his birds year round and especially enjoyed Purple Martins.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Lynda of 58 years, include a son, Thomas C. Morgan (Jill) of Saegertown; a daughter, Michelle Morrison (John) of Virginia; six grandchildren, Madison Morgan, Kyla Morgan, Chloe Morgan, Thomas Towner, Kristin Bradley and Emily Morrison; a sister, Beverly Updyke of New Milford, PA; nieces and nephews and his dog, Zeb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee E. Towner.

Calling hours will be Friday, August 27, 2021 from 3-5 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The Celebration of Tom’s Life will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Sheldon, of Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating.  Military honors will follow provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.
