Thomas G. Youngblood, 75, of Warren Ave., Meadville passed away Tuesday afternoon June 18, 2024, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.
He was born in Denver, CO on June 6, 1949, a son of William G. and Elena M. (Sportsman) Youngblood. He attended Conneaut Lake High School, received his GED, and in 1980 received his bachelor’s degree from Alliance College, Cambridge Springs. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1968-1973, where he was a Corpsman and a laboratory technician. On December 18, 1971, Tom married the former Constance Kohler, she survives. He was previously employed as a health officer and codes officer for the city of Meadville for 20 years, J.H. Nunn Co., a manager at Super Duper Grocery Store, and had a music D.J. business for 25 years. Since 2004 Tom has been the owner/operator of Youngblood Inspection and Consultation Services. He attended Emmanuel Community Church. As a teenager he played in local bands and had a record contract. Tom was a board member of Meadville Housing Authority, member and officer of Meadville Experimental Aircraft Association, member of the Elks Lodge #219, and past president of PA flying association. He received his private pilot license in 2002.
In addition to his wife Connie of 52 years, he is survived by a son, Nathan Youngblood and his wife Sarah of Meadville; a daughter, Terra-Lynne McBride and her husband C.J. of Pittsburgh; three sisters, Elena DiGregorio of Greenville, Ina Daniello of Hadley, and Sharon Benger and her husband John of Lexington, NC; a brother, David Youngblood and his wife Lois of Hadley; two granddaughters, Stella McBride and Béatrice Youngblood and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother William Youngblood.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 29th at 10:00 AM in Emmanuel Community Church, 30 Park Avenue, Meadville, with Rev. Dr. Timothy Solomon, pastor officiating. Friends and family will be received at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. 581 CHESTNUT ST, MEADVILLLE on Friday, June 28th from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Inurnment will be private.
