Thomas J. Foster “Fos”, 66, of Stoneboro, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 after battling cancer.
Born in Stoneboro, PA on March 17, 1955; he was the son of Elmer J. Foster and Patricia (Cowan) Foster.
He was a 1973 graduate of Lakeview High School and after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce, where he served for four years. During his time in the Airforce, he was stationed at SAC in Minot, ND.
After an honorable discharge, he worked as a machinist at Cooper Bessemer in Grove City for over 22 years. Additionally, he worked for Stoneboro Borough Maintenance for 10 years.
He took many trips to Madoc, Canada in the summer to his grandparent’s cottage and Tavares, FL where his parents spent the winter months. He also spent countless hours at the Stoneboro Lake.
Mr. Foster was a member of the American Legion Post 159 and the Legion Riders of Mercer, loved to go on poker runs, attending and watching parades, and riding his motorcycle.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his mother, Patricia Foster of Stoneboro; brothers, Dave (Chris) Foster of Lewistown, PA and Ron (Peggy) Foster of Tavares, FL; and many nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Barb Mattocks, and great-grandniece, Aizeya Mattocks.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 2 pm – 3 pm on Monday, January 17, a Memorial Service will follow visitation at 3 pm with Full Military Honors being rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard, Franklin, and Pastor Janet Pratt, officiating.
Interment will take place National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
