Thomas Joseph Zuber

Thomas Joseph Zuber, 49, of 10977 Schenenberg Road, Guys Mills, PA 16327 died Saturday, July 23, 2005 at UPMC-Presbyterian Medical Center in Pittsburgh.

He was born February 9, 1956 in Palmerton, PA a son of Thomas S. and Marie Ann Wilson Zuber.  He married Brenda Pratt June 1999 and she survives.

He retired in 2004 as a Registered Nurse with the PA Dept. of Corrections at SCI-Cambridge Springs after 9 years of service.  Previously, he had worked as an instructor with Schaneman Corp., as part of the trauma team at Pocono Raceways and as a registered nurse at Pottsville Hospital.

He was a 1973 graduate of Panther Valley High School in Summit Hill, PA, a 1977 graduate of the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.  And in 1992 he received his BS in Hospital Administration from St. Joseph’s College in Standish, ME.

He was a member of St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, member and past President of SEIU Local, member and former officer of the Western PA Riding and Driving Club, member and served on the Board of Directors of the Western PA Quarter Horse Association.  He enjoyed showing his Quarter horses and was proud of qualifying his Quarter Horse stallion “A Perfect Touchdown” for the AQHA 2003 World Show.  He loved activities with his family, hunting and working his farm with his Kubota tractor.  He was a very kind and outgoing man and was well respected in the nursing field.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Brenda, include:  one daughter, Elizabeth Marie Zuber who lives at home; his father, Thomas S. Zuber and his wife Jeannie; one brother, Joseph Zuber and his wife Tracy and one niece, Alyssa Zuber all of Nesquehoning and aunts.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Hippolyte Roman Catholic Church, 25997 State Hwy. #27, Guys Mills with Rev. B. LeMonte Sayer as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
