Thomas R. Ewing, 77, of Meadville, died early Saturday morning at City Hospital following an extended period of ill health.
From 1934 until his retirement a year and a half ago, Mr. Ewing was a stationary engineer at Allegheny College. He spent his earlier life at Corry where he was associated with the H. Clark and Son Lumber Co., first as treasurer and later as general manager. In the latter post, he had charge of lumber mills over a wide section of western PA.
He formerly was an elder of the Presbyterian Church of Corry, and more recently was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Meadville.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Grace Mason Ewing; four sons, Donald W. of Cuba, IL, Raymond J. of Aruba, Netherlands, West Indies, Dr. Fred Ewing of Meadville and Orlo A. Ewing of Corry; two daughters, Dr. Ethel E. Ewing of Washington DC and Miss Ruth M. Ewing of Hamilton, OH and eight grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
