Thomas H. Rockwell

Thomas H. Rockwell, age 88, of Meadville passed away at his home on February 18, 2025.

Tom was born in Uniontown, PA to the late Ewing and Elizabeth Rockwell on August 28, 1936. He married Lois A. Gorenflo on August 21, 1976, she proceeded him in death on July 6, 2020.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and for many years volunteered with the fish and game commission stocking trout. He enjoyed frequent hunting trips to Colorado. Tom served in the National Guard and in his youth played minor league baseball. He and his late father owned Rockwell Trucking until he retired. Tom was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.

He is survived by two step-children, Cynthia Urquhart (Sun City, AZ) and Kevin Taylor (Fort Wayne, IN), and his sister, Patricia Toboz (Meadville). Tom had four grandchildren: Jonathan Urquhart, Linsay Merle, Elyssa Clark, and Sarah Taylor; and six great grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews; Lori Elinsky, Jeff Dudenhaver, and Cami Robie.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to Stone United Methodist Church, 956 S. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital – www.stjude.org 

A funeral service will be held on February 25, 2025, at 6:00 PM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE with Rev. Kendra Balliet, officiating, pastor of Stone United Methodist Church. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. 

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
