Thomas J. "Kid" Steele, 63, of Conneaut Lake, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare-Meadville.
He was born December 21, 1940 in Meadville, a son of Charles J. and Isabel M. Groger Steele of Conneaut Lake.
For seven years, he worked as a truck driver for a Cleveland company. He formerly worked for several unions in the steel industry and retired after 39 years.
He served in the US Army.
A member of the Conneaut Lake Park Volunteer Fire Department, he also was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842.
He was a Catholic.
He was a fan of NASCAR and college football and wrestling and enjoyed reading.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles T. Steele, Jr. and a gramddaughter.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Steele of Atlanta; two daughters, Marie Elaine Butler (Michael) of Cambridge Springs and Melynda Eells of Conneaut Lake; two sisters, Barbara Kurtic and Linda Blood (Jim), all of Conneaut Lake; a brother, James W. Steele of Conneaut Lake and seven nieces and nephews.
Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
