Tony T. Greco

Tony T. Greco, 92, of Adamsville Road, Hartstown, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Park Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Meadville, where he had been a resident for the past month.

He was born June 3, 1922 in Belle Vernon, PA a son of Dominic and Jean Richidy Greco.  He was a graduate of East Fallowfield High School and worked on the family farm after graduation.  Shortly thereafter, he was employed at Greenville Steel Car and later Trinity Industries, retiring from there after 40 years of service.  Over the years, he was partners with his brother, Joe in farming and the ownership of the Adamsville General Store for 10 years during the 1950’s.  He married Peggy Andrews on November 23, 1968 and she preceded him in death March 10, 2012.

He was a member of Adamsville Presbyterian Church.  He was an avid gardener, always planting a huge garden to share with family and friends.  He loved hunting and fishing, and still remained interested in the farm, helping his son-in-law with field work until 5 years ago when his sight no longer allowed him to drive the tractor.  He loved his many pets that he and Peggy had over the years.

Tony is survived by a daughter, Susan Byler and her husband Levi of Hartstown; three grandchildren, Lori Buchanan and her husband Dale, Michael Byler and Lianna Byler all of Hartstown; two great grandchildren, Kayti and Kaleb Buchanan; a sister-in-law, Mabel Mrvos of Hartstown; a brother-in-law, James Unger of Adamsville; three nieces, Donna Jean Kalthaler and her husband Jack and JoAnn Chizmar and her husband Jerry all of Greenville and Elaine Buchiso and her husband Mike of Pittsburgh; three nephews, Bill Greco and his wife Paula of Conneaut Lake and Ralph and Tom Greco of Pittsburgh and many other nieces, nephews and cousins and his devoted Jack Russell Terrier, “Penny.”

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Greco and his wife Alice and Joe Greco and his wife Evelyn.

As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours.  Cremation will take place with his cremains buried with his wife in Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville.

The memorial service will be Saturday, November 29th at 4:00 p.m. at Adamsville Presbyterian Church, 3879 Main Street, Adamsville with Rev. Harry Johns, Pastor, officiating.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m.
