Travis L. Burge, 23, of Sharpsville, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in an all-terrain-vehicle accident. He was born July 24, 1993 in Meadville, a son of Michelle Sherred Kania and Kelvin L Burge. Travis was a 2012 graduate of Sharpsville High School where attended the Mercer County Career Center for diesel mechanics and a 2015 graduate of the University of Northwestern Ohio with associate of science degrees in diesel technology and agricultural equipment technology. Travis was employed in maintenance heat treat at the Meadville Forging Company. A social member of the Saegertown American Legion Post 205, Travis loved playing hockey, soccer, and wrestling. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, boating, and bull riding. He loved his John Deere tractor, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and especially time spent with family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Michelle and Brian Kania of Sharpsville; his fiance Courtney Weber of Pittsburgh; maternal grandparents, Red and Doris Sherred of Venango; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Velma Burge of Saegertown and Edward and Donna Kania of Cambridge Springs; paternal great-grandmother, Louise Gamble of Cambridge Springs; paternal great-grandfather, Edward F. Kania of Canonsburg; a step-sister Brooke E. Kania of Charlotte, NC; several aunts and uncles including Hazel and Art Baron of Saegertown, Wendy Angelo of Venango, Arnie and Sharri Burge, Linda and Bob Haines, Dale and Brenda Burge, and Darrell and Julie Kania of Cambridge Springs; great-aunt and great-uncle, Terry and Marty Sherred of Sevierville, TN; his goddaughter, Kinslee June; and several cousins including Scott and Brittney Baron, Kristen Angelo and her fianc Andy Eckart, Raymond and Maria Biebel, Alyssa Angelo, Donald Baron, Julie Wilkinson, Donald Burge, Kevin Burge, Bobby and Jesse Haines, Katie, Kenny Burge, Tommy Burge, Patsy, Bryce Kania, Brett Kania, and Madix, Raelynn, and Briar Baron. He was preceded in death by his father and maternal great-grandparents, Donald and Clara Sherred and Howard and Jean Shafer. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ray Martinez, Pastor of Living Waters Church, officiating. Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
