Twila Ann Dodson, 86, of Greenville, formerly of Stoneboro, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2021 at Avalon Springs in Mercer. Twila was born in Mercer on May 9, 1935 to the late Clyde and Hazel (Zahniser) Fox. She was a 1953 graduate of Mercer High School. Twila worked for many years as secretary for her husband’s trucking company and in her later years worked as a Wal-Mart cashier in Greenville.
Twila was married to her beloved husband, James E. Dodson on January 15, 1955, he preceded her in death. They were partners for life and did everything together. The greatest partnership was their faith in Jesus Christ. They served Christ faithfully through their various church families and Transport for Christ.
Twila enjoyed bowling, horse riding, gardening, and square dancing in her earlier years. She was also a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant for many years. Most of all Twila loved her family and was very supportive of each one of them.
Left to cherish her memory is her son; Eric (Rhonda) Dodson of Xenia, OH, daughter; Donna Lisa (Scott) Boyd of Stoneboro, grandchildren; Jessica, Justin, Whitney, Drew, Rachel, and Rebecca, 10 great-grandchildren, sister; Donna Wilkins, sisters-in-law; Mary Fox and Doris Worley, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Twila was preceded in death by her son; Bryan Dodson, son-in-law; Wayne Herrin, sister Doris Garrett, and brothers Robert and Harlow Fox.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday, December 29. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 am on December 30 with the Rev. Ben Zeigler officiating.
Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
