Twila Fern Gilmour

Twila Fern Gilmour, 98, of Meadville, died Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born October 6, 1916 in Friedens, PA (Somerset Co.) a daughter of Morris and Ada Mabel Enos Hemminger.  She married Robert Gilmour and he preceded her in death, June 20, 1966.

She was a graduate of Somerset High School and worked as an inspector at Talon Inc. retiring in 1981.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its Wesleyan Circle and the Golden Crown Chapter, Order of Eastern Star.  She was an avid card player.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Wesbury’s Memory Support for all the loving care given to Twila over the years.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol Parks and her husband Tom of Meadville; a daughter-in-law, Ann Gilmour of Martinez, GA; six grandchildren, Gregory Gilmour and his wife Kathy, Alycia Watson and her husband Joe, Christine Gilmour, Colleen Miller and her husband Josh, Tamara Fletcher and her husband Jerry and Thomas Parks, Jr. and his wife Chelsea; ten great grandchildren, Matthew Gilmour, Blake Gilmour, Marissa Gilmour, Ann Marie Watson, Christopher Watson, Samantha Fletcher, Lauren Fletcher, Elise Miller, Hayden Parks and LeeAnn Parks and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Adam Gilmour, eight sisters and five brothers.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Sam Marchetta, Chaplain of Wesbury United Methodist Community, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
