Valeda Juanita Larsen

Valeda Juanita Barton Larsen, 87, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born October 21, 1927 in Corry, PA a daughter of Lee and Florence Mason Barton. She married Wilbur Charles Larsen June 7, 1946 and he survives. She grew up at Corry First United Methodist Church and was a member of Westmont United Methodist Church, Johnstown. She was an avid reader, enjoyed gourmet cooking and experimenting in the kitchen and was a life-long learner with many varied interests. Survivors, in addition to her husband Wilbur of 69 years, include: three children, The Rev. Dr. Deryl K. Larsen and his wife Pam of Sharpsville, Dr. Sherril Ingram and her husband Larry of Williamsport and Barry Larsen and his wife Janet of Jamestown, NY; two sisters, Leona Anderson of Jamestown, NY and Coletta Adcock and her husband Al of Petaluma, CA; four grandchildren, Christopher Ingram of Williamsport, Erika West and her husband Scott of Anita, PA, Erin Isanhart and her husband Chad of San Jose, CA and Nicole Larsen of Jamestown, NY and three great grandchildren, Christopher Ingram, Jr., Bryson West and Brantley West. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary Larsen. The memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the McCracken Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville with Rev. Sam Marchetta, Chaplain, officiating. Private family interment will be in Beaverdam Lawn Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to The Living Stone Building Campaign, First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street, Clarion, PA 16214. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
