Valerie Ann West Wentz, 68, of Meadville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Park Avenue Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Meadville October 10, 1947 a daughter of Burton L. and S. Patricia Grubaugh West. She married Keith Norman Wentz May 18, 1968 and he preceded her in death May 26, 1973. She was a graduate of Townville High School and Edinboro University. She was an art teacher in the Penncrest School District for several years, then worked at the Pellitier Library at Allegheny College and most recently had owned and operated Wentz Bookkeeping Service. She loved all animals, but especially cats. She is survived by her mother, S. Patricia West of Saegertown; two nieces, Amanda Prusia and her husband Dale of Guys Mills and Jennie Wentz Shearer and her husband Nick of Cochranton; four nephews, Gregg Wentz and his wife Vicky of Townville, Kerry Wentz and his wife Susan of Guys Mills, Trevor Wentz and his wife Heather of Saegertown and Keith Wentz and his wife Katie of Lancaster, OH; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Wentz and his wife Virginia of Guys Mills and Thomas Wentz and his wife Kitty of Guys Mills; several great nieces and great nephews and her beloved cats, Charlie, Missy, Katie and Gabby. In addition to her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Matthew Wentz and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Bertha Wentz. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society, 11012 Kennedy Hill Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
