Vermyra L. Stokes, 88, of 12708 State Hwy 18, Conneaut Lake died at home Wednesday, November 01, 2006.
She was born in Punxsutawney, PA March 16, 1918 a daughter of Grover C. and Annie Hebner Anderson. She married Frederick A. Stokes July 17, 1937 and he preceded her in death December 28, 1976.
She was a 1935 graduate of Punxsutawney High School. She was an Avon sales representative in the Punxsutawney area for several years and she attended the Canoe Ridge Church of God in Punxsutawney. She dearly loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors, include: one daughter, Linda Miller and her husband Terry of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Frederick Stokes and his wife Bette of Quartz Hill, CA and Rev. Paul Stokes and his wife Sue of Punxsutawney, seventeen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Lantz and five sisters, Geraldine, Marion, Ruth, Frances and Virginia.
Private family calling hours will be Thursday at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.
Additional calling hours will be Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home, 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McCabe Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Stokes, son, officiating.
Burial will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville, PA.
The family suggests memorials be made to Canoe Ridge Church of God, 3827 Church Road, Rossiter, PA 15772.
