Veronica B. Crockett, 87, of Meadville, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her residence.
She was born October 7, 1925 in Triumph Township, Warren County, a daughter of Robert E. and Mary B. Martin McGraw. She married Charles C. Crockett June 12, 1948 and he preceded her in death March 12, 2012.
Veronica was a 1943 graduate of Youngsville High School and a 1946 graduate of the St. Vincent School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nurse’s degree. She was employed at Meadville Medical Center for 25 years as a nurse manager in the Intensive Care Unit, retiring in 1987. She previously worked at Warren General Hospital and at the college hospital of Penn State Univ.
Veronica was a member of St. Brigid Church and its Altar and Rosary society. She was known for her wonderful memory and loved her family and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynnea Bailey and her husband Michael of Erie, Charlene Horvat and her husband Tom of Meadville, and Connie Graham and her husband Curtis of Meadville; ten grandchildren, Mark, Stephen, and Gregory Bailey, Ann-Marie Patterson and her husband Carl, Natalie Montgomery and her husband Larry, Charles, Robert, and Kaylie Horvat, Julie Graham and Dana Revel, and Kevin Graham, three great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Gia, and Max; a brother, Ernest A. McGraw and his wife Alice of Venice, FL; a niece, Rhonda Glotz of Englewood, FL; several cousins including Mary Sampson and her husband Chuck of Tidioute; good friends, Paul and Dot Hannold of Youngsville; and her wonderful caregivers, Betty Wagler, Sandy Walker, Ada Schrock, Venessa Summerlin, and Naomi Miller.
Calling hours will be Sunday, February 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a scripture prayer service at 3:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 25th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Church, 383 Arch St., Meadville with Fr. Johnathan P. Schmolt as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
