Veronica C. Valentine

Veronica C. Valentine, 78, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born July 11, 1942 in Cumberland, MD, a daughter of Gerard T. and Monica I. Engelbach Martin.  She married Raymond R. Valentine, Jr. October 14, 1961 and he preceded her in death October 26, 1986.

Veronica worked as a manager at the Dairy Mart in Conneaut Lake for 23 years.  She also worked at Care Apothecary and Walmart.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church where she was actively involved with the choir, Altar Rosary Society, Parish Care and Concern committee, was a Lecter and Eucharistic Minister, and taught religious education.

Veronica was a founding member of the local Red Hat Society and enjoyed bowling and especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters, Rita Valentine, Denise Valentine, and Barbara Vaughn (Dave), all of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Raymond Valentine, III (Rose) of Conneaut Lake and Thomas Valentine (Michelle) of Frederick, MD; six grandchildren, James Valentine, Jordan Vaughn, Samantha Vaughn, Matthew Edwards (Dana), Jennifer Edwards, and Taylor Pickett; two great-granddaughters, Penny and Ruby Edwards; a brother, Gerard Martin, Jr. (Phyllis) of Rockford, IL; a sister-in-law, Maryann Franciosi (James) of Cumberland, MD; nieces, nephews and cousins including Timothy Martin of Cumberland, MD with whom she was especially close.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Martin.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 11th from 4 to 7 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE with a Rosary Service at 6:45 p.m.  The wearing of masks is required.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 12th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
