Vesta F. Casbohm, 88, of West Center Road, Linesville, died Monday, February 10, 2003 at Beverly Health Care Meadville.
She was born in Freeport, PA May 26, 1915 a daughter of Alva Crosby and Mary Crosby Lang. She married Herbert Ralph Casbohm September 17, 1937 and he preceded her in death May 25, 1958.
She was a farm housewife raising three children whom she loved dearly. A talented seamstress, she learned to sew fur and worked for Kronenfeld Furs among others. She also enjoyed making quilts, other various crafts, wearing vintage clothing and growing flowers and sharing them with her family and friends. She also especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors, include two daughters, Jane Barr and her husband Bernard of Meadville and Janis Lofgren and her husband Carl of Hopkins, MN; a son, Bill Casbohm and his wife Kathleen of Fridley, MN; a sister, Elva Sutherland of Erie; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert Casbohm and two sisters, Dorothy Hatch and Elizabeth Munger.
A private funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Park Avenue, Meadville.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
