Victor J. Barickman, 84, of Meadville, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie.
He was born January 26, 1931 in Meadville, a son of Walter and Blanche ReBrassier Barickman. He married Beverly J. Hayden February 21, 1966 and she survives.
Victor was a graduate of St. Agatha High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War era serving from 1950 to 1951. He was co-owner and operator with his brother George of Barickman Block and Supply Company for over 30 years. He previously worked at Avtex for 23 years.
Victor was a member of St. Agatha Roman Catholic Church. He was a hard worker his entire life and enjoyed hunting, trips to Alaska and loved farming and his beef cattle.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Beverly of almost 50 years, include two sons, Joseph Barickman of Warren, Ohio and John Barickman of Mentor, Ohio; and a brother, George Barickman of Meadville.
Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Scripture Prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Church, 353 Pine St., Meadville with Fr. Matthew Kujawinski as Celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery.
