Vincent Clair Stainbrook, 92, of 683 North St., Meadville, died Sunday July 9, 2006 at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Meadville August 21, 1913, a son of the late Charles and Hazel Garrison Stainbrook.
A 1931 graduate of Meadville High School, he had been employed at the former Talon, and American Viscose companies before serving in World War II. He was a Captain in the U. S. Army Air Corps serving as a Base Signal Officer in various locations. He retired from Macwhyte Wire Rope Company as a District Sales Manager, having worked in both San Francisco, CA, and Newark, NJ.
He had played minor league baseball as a young man and was a life-long baseball fan.
He is survived by one brother, Dale F. Stainbrook and his wife Lillian of Conneaut Lake; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private graveside service is today (Tuesday) at Greendale Cemetery.
Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville is in charge of arrangements.
