Violet "Carol" Klingensmith

Violet “Carol” Klingensmith, 81 of Jackson Center, passed away at her home on April 15, 2018. She was born on June 27, 1936 in Naugatuck, WV to the late Edgaer Wendell and Mary Jane Starr Hall. Carol attended Lakeview High School and worked as an Aide for Countryside Convalescent Home and as a cook for many years at the Mercer Diner and Reisinger’s Bar and Restaurant. Carol was a member of the Methodists United in Faith, attending both the Vincent and Lakeview United Methodist Churches. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. She loved family gatherings, cookouts, and especially her birthday parties her family would have for her. She also loved to crochet and embroider. Carol was an animal lover having several cats and a dog named Annie. She was also a member of the Jackson Center Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary as well as worked the election polls for every election. Carol is survived by four children, Carol “Annie” Miller and husband Larry of Grove City, Merlon Rex “Buck” Klingensmith and wife Patti of Jackson Center, John C. Klingensmith and wife Cindy of Jackson Center, and Melissa J. Hardisky and husband Ernie of Grove City, ten grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Mike, Chad, Amanda, Carla, Beth, Bobby, Richelle, and Melinda, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, several cats, and her dog, a bichon named Annie. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Georgia Lynn Klingensmith, and nine siblings. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, April 17. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 11 am on Wednesday, April 18, with the Reverend Earl R. Dykes, Associate Pastor, Methodists United in Faith, Officiating.
