Virgil F. Cole

December 8, 1918 — January 1, 1753

Dr. Virgil F. Cole, 49, of Meadville, an optometrist with offices in Conneautville and Girard, died suddenly Friday evening at home.

He was born in Meadville December 8, 1918, a son of Virgil F. and Eilzabeth E. Hall Cole. He married the former Ethel Pearl Chismar on March 27, 1948.

Dr. Cole was a member of Stone Methodist Church and a graduate of Meadville High School and Meadville Commercial College.  He attended Alliance and Allegheny Colleges, and was a graduate of Chicago College of Optometry.

He was a member of the American Optometric Assn. and served in the Pacific theater with the Army during World War II from May, 1942 to February 1946.  He was stationed at Okinawa.

Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Christine Ellen at home; three sisters, Mrs. M.D. (Helen) VanRiper of Meadville; Mrs. Stanley (Genevieve) Piekutowski of District Heights, MD and Mrs. Ezra (Harriette) Watson of Linesville and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
