Virginia A. Hills

Virginia A. Hills, 85, of 16656 Cussewago Rd., Meadville, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at her residence.

She was born September 3, 1926 in Saegertown, a daughter of Reuben and Geraldine Rickert Stainbrook.  She married Harold N. Hills June 6, 1948 and he survives.

Virginia was a graduate of Randolph High School and received her degree as a licensed practical nurse.  She was employed as an LPN for several years at the former Meadville City Hospital.  She previously worked at Westinghouse, Meadville.

Virginia was a member of First Christian Church and was a former Sunday School teacher.  She volunteered as a nurse at the Deep Valley Christian Service Camp in Dempseytown and Slippery Rock.  She especially enjoyed being with her family and time spent with her church family.

Survivors, in addition to her loving husband Harold of 64 years, include three children, Steven N. Hills and his wife Ruth of Meadville, Nancy M. Coblentz and her husband Lawrence of Meadville, and Philip S. Hills of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Christopher N. Hills, Mende Coblentz, Michael Coblentz, Ashley Hills, and Ian Hills; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Keith Stainbrook and his wife Linda of Lawrenceville; three sisters, Ruby Roland of Meadville, Rachel Egli of Steubenville, OH, and Dorothy Boswell of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, David and Kenneth Stainbrook and a sister, Autumn Whitesell.

Calling hour will be Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, 503 N. Main St. Ext., Meadville where a memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Terry Clark, Pastor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 503 N. Main St. Ext., Meadville, PA 16335 or Deep Valley Christian Service Camp, 1073 Studebaker Rd., Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
