Virginia Bailey Pardee

Virginia Bailey Pardee, 102, formerly of Geneva and a current resident of the Crawford County Care Center, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 13, 2019. She was born August 11, 1917 in Atlantic, a daughter of Edson and Thelma Van Ness Vernon. At age 5 she moved to Geneva and resided there for 94 years. She married Harland Bailey August 3, 1935 and he preceded her in death May 22, 1943 She subsequently married Charles L. Pardee September 27, 1949 and he preceded her in death May 15, 2002. Virginia was a 1935 graduate of Meadville High School. She worked at Westinghouse, the Cochranton Cooperative as a bookkeeper, and had been the Greenwood Township tax collector. After retirement she and Charles enjoyed traveling the country in their RV and spending winters in Florida. Virginia was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Geneva where she taught Sunday School, played the piano and organ and held many offices. Survivors include a daughter, Kay Harned (Richard) of Conneaut Lake; a son, Rev. Frederick Bailey (Anne-Louise) of Chittenango, NY; a daughter-in-law, Louise Bailey of Meadville; a son-in-law, Ted Loy of Bloomington, IL; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Loy; a son, Gene Bailey; a brother, Howard Vernon; and her step-mother, Helen Burchfield Vernon. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 18th from 10-11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 15439 State Hwy 285, Conneaut Lake where her Celebration of Life service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Alice McClymonds officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
