Virginia C. Cannon, 92, of Conneaut Lake, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at her residence.
She was born in Newport News, VA, February 6, 1909 a daughter of the late Ryland Frank Clark and Clara Virginia Edwards Clark. She married John S. Cannon, June 28, 1958, he died September 30, 1971.
She was a housewife and owner of Cannon's Sport Store, Conneaut Lake, for many years. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Conneaut Lake, Meadville Woman's Club and Rota Literary Club. She was also a former member of Conneaut Lake Fire Hall and Ladies Aux. of Linesville VFW Post #7842.
She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed making clothes. She also enjoyed flower gardening, her many friends and all those that met her loved her.
Survivors, include one son, Walter R. Luther, Sr. (Susan) of Conneaut Lake; one sister, Edna Belle Baker of Hampton, VA; one brother, Ernest W. Clark (Frances) of Seaford, VA; four grandchildren, Walter, R. (Ronnie) Luther, Jr., Virginia D. (Ginny) Hetrick, Catherine L. (Kathy) Mahilko and William C. (Bill) Luther; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three brothers and three sisters.
Services were held at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
