Virginia E. Sanner

Virginia E. Sanner, 82, of Guys Mills, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born June 3, 1934 in Meadville, a daughter of Floyd L. and Sara Tanner Bogardus. She married Ronald R. Sanner October 20, 1962 and he preceded her in death December 27, 2015. Virginia was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and reading. She was a member of the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills and was also a member of the Randolph Township Volunteer Fire Dept. ladies auxiliary. Survivors include a daughter, Beth A. Sanner of Guys Mills; a son, James R. Sanner and his girlfriend of many years, Barbara Whitman; two brothers, Bruce Bogardus and his wife Sue of Hartsville, SC and Norman Bogardus and his wife Myrtle of Guys Mills; a sister, Janet Hunter and her husband James of Meadville; two sisters-in-law, Grace Bohnert and her husband Neil of Lynchburg, VA and Ella Mae Terrill and her husband James of Hendersonville, NC; a brother-in-law, Thomas Heme of Guys Mills; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Stallard and her husband Richard; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frank and Mary Jo Sanner; and a sister-in-law, Margot (Peg) Heme. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral and committal service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Conley, Pastor of Meadville Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will be in Wayland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills, P.O.
