Virginia L. Busch

Virginia L. Busch, 87, formerly of Meadville and Ocala, FL, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at New Mark Care Center, Kansas City, MO following a period of declining health.

She was born March 24, 1927 in Bradford, a daughter of Ralph H. and Margaret C. Johnson Whiteman.  She married Elmer R. Busch August 2, 1947 in Oil City and he preceded her in death March 30, 2007.

Virginia was a graduate of Oil City High School and worked as a secretary for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 20 years, retiring in 1966.  She was a former member of Ocala West United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church, Meadville.

Survivors include four children, David P. Busch and his wife Julie of Kansas City, MO, Karen L. Henderson and her husband Philip of Sandpoint, ID, Gwendolyn M. Latessa and her husband Phillip of Poland, OH, and Jeffrey A. Busch and his wife Laura of Frederick, MD; five grandchildren, Angela, Kyle, Christopher, Eric, and Tyler Busch; two sisters, Barbara W. Peil and her husband Robert of Syracuse, NY and Frances E. Weber of DeWitt, MI; a brother-in-law, Ray Busch and his wife Joanne of Erie; and nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Larry Peters, Associate Pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to your local Alzheimer’s Association.
