Virginia M. Goodman

Virginia M. Goodman, 83, of Meadville, died at her son's home, Sunday, August 22, 1999, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Meadville, June 5, 1916, a daughter of Leslie and Emma Jane Hamilton Smith.  She married Paul (Chay) Goodman, November 28, 1934, and her preceded her in death June 8, 1987.  She was a 1933 graduate of Meadville High School, a homemaker, and a member of Wayland Baptist Church and a former deaconess.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Harrington (JoAnne) Smith of Girard and Mrs. William (Marlene) Hollabaugh of Meadville; a son, William P. Goodman (Ruth Ann) of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Kimberly and Janet Goodman of Meadville, Jody Gionti of Euclid, OH, Greg Smith of Erie, Vicki Graham of Houston, TX, Shaun Hollabaugh of Meadville and Susan Smith of Meadville; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Viola Maines of Meadville; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lena Mattocks and Lucinda VanSlyke and three brothers, Stanley, Wilfred and Arnold Smith.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
