Virginia M. Neelans, 94, of Conneaut Lake, died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Cedars Community Hospice, Monroeville.
She was born September 2, 1916 in Milwaukee, WI, a daughter of John and Martha Nowak. She married Richard A. Neelans April 16, 1945 and he preceded her in death January 10, 1982.
Virginia graduated from Northside High School, Milwaukee and was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, Conneaut Lake and its Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Nelis and her husband Joseph of Trafford and Janice Zolinas and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, Christine and Gregory Nelis and Richard, Daniel and Robin Zolinas; and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and R.J.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lydia Waszak and three brothers, Delfhin, Raymond and Arthur Nowak.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake with a Scripture Prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth St., Conneaut Lake with Fr. Steve Anderson as Celebrant.
Interment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
