Virginia M. Vivian, 73, of Blooming Valley, a former GTI and Wintronics employee, died Sunday, July 7, 1991, at her residence following a period of declining health.
She was born in Meadville, May 19, 1918, a daughter of Sylvester Lawrence (Mac) and Adda Mae Burton McCartney. She married Joseph P. Vivian, August 5, 1938. He preceded her in death October 29, 1960.
She had been employed by GTI, Saegertown, for 12 years, and then worked at Winitronics for three years. She also was employed at the Crawford County Care Center in the kitchen and housekeeping departments for three years. She was associated with Blooming Valley Methodist Church. She was a member of the bowling assocation and a former member of the Blooming Valley VFD Aux.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph L. Vivian and Jack L. Vivian, both of Blooming Valley; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas R. (Linda) Chatley, Jr. of Guys Mills; a brother, Lawrence McCartney of Meadville; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Bravinder; two brothers and four sisters.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
