Vivian Grace Crabtree

July 20, 1915 — January 7, 1999

Vivian Grace Crabtree, 83, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, since 1985, died there, Thursday, January 7, 1999, following a period of declining health.

She was born in Curwensville, PA, July 20, 1915, a daughter of Lewis E. and Della Mary Baer Taylor.  She married Clarence (Jim) Crabtree and he preceded her in death October 13, 1981.

She was employed as a seamstress at Nubone Co. and later of Berman Bedding for several years until her retirement.  She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Merritts Island, FL and its Graceful Seniors Group and a former member of Simpson United Methodist Church of Erie, where she was active in the Forum Class and Epworth Guild.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling and spending time at Presque Isle.  She was also an active volunteer at Wesbury until her illness.

Survivors include two sons, Edward D. Crabtree (Nancy) of East Springfield, PA and Richard Crabtree (friend, Darlene Pederson) of Erie; two sisters, Lillian Rowles of Morrsidale, PA and Almeda Wingard (Byron) of Grampian, PA; a brother, Harry Taylor (Twila) of Reynoldsville; three grandchildren, Shelly Jones, Matt Crabtree and Heather Crabtree; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Ross Crabtree; two brothers, Lewis and Charles Taylor; and a sister, Mildred Sipes.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Brevard Memorial Park, Cocoa, FL.
