Vivian S. Hefferman

March 20, 1938 — December 20, 2021

Vivian S. Hefferman, 83, of Sandy Lake Township, joined her beloved husband in her heavenly home on December 20, 2021.

Vivian was born on March 20, 1938 to the late Charles H. and Hazel (Tanner) Steinlechner.
After graduating from Lakeview High School, Vivian worked at Mercer County State Bank. She married the love of her life, Gary R. Hefferman, April 19, 1958 and they enjoyed 61 years of happiness together.

Vivian loved the Lord and was dynamic in leading young women’s ministries. She founded The Ladies’ Share Group that touched the lives of numerous young women. She served for many years as church treasurer. In 2000 she became the secretary of The Great Stoneboro Fair. She loved the job and the people she worked with. She also enjoyed being involved with the Lakeview Alumni Association and attending services at the Oak Grove Church.

But her greatest joy was spending time with her family. The light of her life was her great-granddaughter, Maddie. She loved being a grandma.

Vivian is survived by two daughters, Diane Patterson, of Stoneboro, and Lisa Sok (Robert) of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughter, Meghan Alexander (Greg) of Stoneboro; great-granddaughter, Madison Alexander; a brother, Richard Steinlechner (Norma) of Hermitage; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Gilliland and Shirley Nagel, both of Stoneboro; as well as many nieces and nephews and a close family friend, Rebecca Hedglin who was like a daughter.

In addition to her parents and adoring husband, Vivian was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Christian and Haley; a sister, Janet Steinlechner; son-in-law, Walter D. Patterson and parents-in-law, Quinn “Ellery” and Iva (Reed) Hefferman.
