Vivien L. Waddle

Vivien L. Waddle, 94, of Meadville and a resident of Rolling Fields Elder Care Community died there Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was born in Coraopolis, PA June 16, 1923 a daughter of Howard T. Fitzsimmons and Florence E. Sipes Fitzsimmons Sackett. She married Samuel E. Waddle May 17, 1945 and he preceded her in death January 9, 1993. She was a 1941 graduate of Cochranton High School and worked for the Meadville Telephone Company, Talon Inc., the Crawford Store and retired from National Fuel in 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and its KJU Sunday School Class. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting, flower gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Waddle and her companion Joe Raible of Annandale, VA and Linda Haemer and her husband Richard of Cambridge Springs; two grandsons, Derek A. Haemer and his wife Jill of Cambridge Springs and Darrell E. Haemer and his wife Devon of Erie; three step great grandchildren, Patrick, Kenny and Emily Dunn; a close cousin, Faye Pease of Cochranton and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant grandson and two brothers, Howard and Raymond Fitzsimmons. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Gerald Walton, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg, PA The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 353 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
