W. Lee Brawley

W. Lee Brawley, 67, Hunter Road, Meadville died unexpectedly Monday, October 9, 2006 at the Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville June 9, 1939 a son of Maurice E. and Alice E. Wilson Brawley.  He married Alice I. Hoyt September 27, 1958 and she survives.

He retired in 2005 as a sales representative at Wilson Building Supply after 46 years of service.

He was a 1958 graduate of Randolph East Mead High School, a 35 year member of the East Mead Vol. Fire Dept. and a life long member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church.  He enjoyed carpentry work, building his own home in 1964, fishing, boating, deer hunting and was looking forward to this year’s senior hunt.  He also enjoyed his 1965 Ford Thunderbird which he purchased from his parents and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.

Survivors, in addition to his wife Alice of 48 years, include: three daughters, Sharon Dunn and her husband Rick of Meadville, Brenda Etzel and her husband Carl of Charlotte, NC and Christine Mecca and her husband Don of Ford City; one son, William Brawley and his wife Laurie of Meadville; his father, Maurice E. Brawley of Meadville; one sister, Janet Kerr and her husband Edward of Meadville; one brother, Harold Brawley and his wife Vivian of Meadville; nine grandchildren, Joshua Etzel, Andy Mecca, Benjamin Etzel, Allyson Mecca, Michael Dunn, Kaitlyn Dunn, Patience Brawley, Abbigail Brawley and Sylvia Brawley and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Brawley.

Calling hours are today (Wednesday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Alice McClymonds, Pastor of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
