Wade D. Slide, 55, of Guys Mills died Monday, January 7, 2013 at UPMC Hamot, Erie.
He was born June 11, 1957 in Bellevue, a son of Louis and Katherine Bunce Slide.
He was part owner and operator of the Hollywood Cigar Bar in Meadville. He previously worked for several years in sales at The Boot Box and Tamarack Lake Bait and Tackle Shop. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America. He was a furrier and blacksmith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved animals, especially his Golden Retrievers, Nugget and Belle.
He is survived by his companion Dee Munhall of Guys Mills; a son, Wade Daniel Slide II and his wife Heather of Pittsburgh; a sister, Kim Watson and her husband Jim of Conneaut, OH; a half-sister, Sherry Kovacevich and her husband Steve of Texas; a half-brother, Alan D. Slide and his wife Jeanne of Georgia and three grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Shomansky.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 2nd from 1-5 p.m. at the Tamarack Tavern, 8904 S. Wayland Road, Meadville.
Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
