Wallis E. Besser, 55, who had lived at Guys Mills, since 1971, died at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Sunday, October 16, 1977, after an illness of eight months. He had been hospitalized two weeks.
Mr. Besser was a former Pittsburgh resident. He was born at Pittsburgh on April 1, 1922, a son of Walter J. and Minnie Douglas Besser. He married Rose A. Christian who died last November.
Mr. Besser last was employed in the sporting goods department of Wolff's and formerly was employed by Wilson Sporting Goods of Pittsburgh. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army-Air Force in Europe.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Jacalyn Leveton of Charleston, SC and Miss Jill Besser at home; a son, Charles of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Wilma Smith of New Wilmington; and three grandchildren.
Services were held at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
