Walter A. Podurgiel, Jr., 57, of 283 Walnut St., Meadville, died Sunday, March 5, 2006 at his residence following an unexpected illness.
He was born in Pittsburgh September 12, 1948, a son of Walter A. and Mary Bugala Podurgiel.
He was a graduate of the former Grace Martin School, Pittsburgh where he learned to be a court reporter. He worked as a court reporter for Crawford County for 33 years. He was a member of court reporting associations.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his father, Walter A. Podurgiel, Sr.; a sister, Lori Podurgiel and her boyfriend, David E. Miller; a brother, Robert L. Podurgiel, all of Pittsburgh; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
A funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Mark Hoffman of St. Mary of Grace Roman Catholic Church officiating.
Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
