Walter D. Williams, 61, of Meadville, died Thursday, June 12, 1975, at City Hospital after an illness of several months.
Born in Oil City, February 1, 1914, he was a son of Walter D. and Agnes Gordon Williams. He married A. Margaret First, September 6, 1941. A bookkeeper for the former United Natural Gas Co., he retired in 1973 and since that time worked part time as a desk man at the David Mead Inn. A member of Stone United Methodist Church, he also was a member of Meadville Masonic Lodge 408; Timothy Alden Council; Solomon Royal Arch Chapter; past commander of NW Commandery 25, Knights Templar. He and his widow were active in the Happy Hashers and Kon-Yacht Kickers square dancing groups.
In addition to his widow, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Guy (Linda) Stellato of Meadville; two sons, W. Daniel Williams of New Orleans and David R. Williams of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Wallace (Frances) Coughlin of Reno; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
