Walter E. Lent, 84, of Meadville, died Saturday, May 27, 1995 at Hamot Medical Center, following a period of declining health.
He was born January 22, 1911, a son of Reuben H. and Amy May Chamberlain Lent. He married Frances Doutt and she preceded him in death in 1982.
Mr. Lent worked at Talon from 1933 to 1948. He was owner and operator of Lent's Neon Sign Business on Route 19, and he also worked in the maintenance department at Allegheny College, retiring from there in 1981. He is a member of the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church and former member of the Harmonsburg Civic Club, Summit Township Sewer Authority, and Linesville/Conneaut/Summit School Board.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Vinkovich of Circleville, OH; a sister, Mrs. James (Anna May) Hunter of Meadville; a brother, Albert L. (Al) Lent of Homosassa, FL; and seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Walter F. Lent and one brother, Charles H. Lent.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
